Getting sponsors for your art events or gallery shows can seem tough, but it's definitely doable! Sponsors can help pay for things and make your event even better. Here’s an easy guide on how to find and keep great sponsors.

RAC Guide: How to Get Sponsors for Your Art Events

What's Sponsorship?

Sponsorship is when a business helps support your event. In return, you help them get noticed by your audience. It’s a win-win!

Step 1: Figure Out What You Need

First, decide what kind of help you need. Is it money, art supplies, or something else? Think about what you can offer sponsors in return, like putting their logo on your event flyer or posting them on your social media.

Step 2: Who Could Be a Sponsor?

Start with businesses that might like to reach your audience. Local shops, companies that support art, or even places that don’t usually sponsor art events might be interested. Think outside the box!

Step 3: Make a Sponsorship Offer

Create an offer to potential maybe sponsorship levels, from small to big, each with benefits. Be ready to tweak these offers to match what a sponsor wants. Make sure to show how sponsoring your event is a great deal for them.

Step 4: Your Sponsorship Pitch

When you talk to potential sponsors, keep it short and sweet. Tell them about your art, what your event is all about, and who will come to it. Explain why sponsoring your event is a great opportunity for them.

Using Instagram

Instagram is perfect for showing off your event and the sponsors who are helping make it happen. Share sneak peeks of your art, behind-the-scenes looks, and shoutouts to your sponsors. Tag your sponsors, and make them feel like they a part of your success.

Step 5: Get in Touch and Keep in Touch

Reach out through your networks or send a nice email. If you don’t hear back right away, it’s okay to follow up. Once someone is interested, work out the details together.

Step 6: Make It Official

Agree on what you and the sponsor will do, then put it in writing. Keep talking to your sponsors as your event gets closer to make sure everything’s going smoothly.

Step 7: Collecting Sponsorship Payments

Setting Clear Terms

Once a sponsor agrees to support your event, discuss payment terms. Specify the amount, payment method (bank transfer, online payment platforms, etc.), and deadline.

Invoicing

Send a detailed invoice to your sponsor, including any necessary information like your bank details or payment link, the sponsorship amount, and the payment due date.

Follow-Up

If the payment deadline is nearing and you haven't received the funds, send a friendly reminder to your sponsor. Keep communication open and polite.

Step 8: Show Your Sponsors Some Love

Make sure you do everything you promised for your sponsors, and maybe a little more. Happy sponsors are likely to help out again in the future.

Step 9: Say Thanks and Share How It Went

After the event, tell your sponsors how it went and thank them. A personal thank you can mean a lot, and sharing pictures or numbers from the event shows them the value they got.

Wrap-Up

Finding sponsors takes a bit of work, but it’s all about showing businesses how they can benefit from supporting your art. Remember to use Instagram and other social media to boost your event and give your sponsors lots of love. Good luck!
